Parking not too good. Atmosphere lovely and comfortable. My partner had a nice sandwich but my crab cakes were awful. First, they were cold inside so probably frozen and they were more filler/cornmeal than crab. Worst of all served with a salad of rotten lettuce. I pointed this out to the waitress and she shrugged and walked away and another waitress brought our bill???? Oh well.

Loved our dinner! Tuna appetizer, caesar and halibut. All dishes had loads of layers and flavors. Staff was attentive but not too much. Husband likes to not be bothered but taken care of and staff was dead on. Will return and recommend to friends.

Quality of food as well as service has certainly gone down hill. Used to be my favorite Santa Fe chef, even back when he was chef at Santa Cafe. Sad to see.

Lots of seating inside and out - do be picky about your seat to get the best views and stay away from the noisy air conditioning unit. All four of us had something different and all four were delicious. Recommend the calamari starter - delicate and tasty with great sauces. Crab cakes and crab cake Benedict were delicious and I'm told the key lime pie was also very good . I didn't care for the Musack style of the guitarist but other really liked him. So just know it's ok

Reasons to return: this place is wonderfully cozy on a cold day, thanks to the radiant floor heat. Prices are fair (not inflated for tourists), especially given the upscale white table cloth atmosphere. We enjoyed the food and our favorite dish was the arugula salad with polenta croutons. Tomato-basil soup of the day was also memorably good. The "cup" was bowl-sized and the bowl was entree-sized. Reasons why we won't return often: the menu was extremely limited for vegetarian/vegan/environmentally friendly fare. It was a meat-based menu. There was a vegetarian sandwich that was an odd combination of grilled portobello, cream cheese, avocado, tomato and iceberg lettuce on a hamburger bun. The chef does have cooking skill, so I would hope that he would apply his creativity to a few more dishes free of animal by products. If the menu is modernized, I could come here often and with more diverse groups of people.

Had an amazing, perfectly cooked Pork Chop dinner at this place. The decor is pleasent, Staff friendly and food is amazing. They served my mother a roasted Lamb that was very tender and enjoyable. The plate presentation was done well. Hat's off to the Chef!!! I will be coming back here after the winter months to enjoy there outside dining.

My wife and I used to frequent Santa Cafe but since dining at Midtown Bistro we no longer dine at Santa Cafe. The lunches and dinners and exquisite at the Midtown Bistro. Service is excellent and their food is delicious and all within a lovely atmosphere.

Came on Sunday for the brunch. I had the waffles with pears, bacon and cottage cheese. Wife had the omelette special. Both were very good. Service was quite good and attentive as well. We will be back to try other dishes. * The coffee was also excellent.

Went for the first time and glad we did. The food and the service were excellent. The location is kind of out of the way but that is OK. It is right across the street from 2nd St. Brewing which allowed for some good beer and live music after dinner.

It is unusual to see reviews for a restaurant so diametric. For us the service was superb, the food tasty and the experience enormously pleasant. We had the arugula salad which was wonderful, the scallops on risotto, also wonderful, and the calamari which was adequate but not great. Good price on the wine. And a delightful key lime pie. No parking problems (paved and only a few steps to the door) and pleasing decor. We look forward to coming back.

Been here 3 times now...first time had the fish and chips, delicious. Shared a tres leches cake, which was also fantastic. Second time, had the big burger...it was rich! Definitely not spa menu food. Latest time, had the fish dish with pearls of couscous or something...it was also very rich. Lots going on in the flavor department. I have to say, I want to give this place at least 4 stars, but find it hard to pick the right words to describe the food perfectly. It is good, robust, full of flavors, but perhaps too complicatd for my simpler taste buds? What I really enjoyed each time here, was the outside patio with fountains. It is beautiful.

I have visited Midtown Bistro on multiple occasions usually leaving satisfied except for the inflated pricing of the food and especially the wine. I had dinner with a party of eight tonight. One of the members of our party ordered Taquitos only to bite into one of them and encounter a toothpick INSIDE the taquito. Fortunately the toothpick did not cause any oral damage but caused a certain degree of alarm. The issue was reported to one of the service staff and instructed to report it to the server. When the server arrived with the bill, she was unaware of the issue. Her response was a nonchalant and insincere apology. No concern was expressed about the possible personal injury that could have occurred. There was no manager present. When further challenged, she offered to remove the charge from the bill. All in all, a most unpleasant experience shared by a table of eight. Full agreement by all present NOT to return.

Still a good stop, lunch or dinner. A very big local hang, you will enjoy a quiet meal on a very nice patio. Luncheon sandwiches and meals are filling, fresh and good. Present management and accommodating staff. Want to get away from the norm, it's a short ride from hotels. Make a reservation if you want to eat outside, even if it looks empty, they will hold tables for reservation. Good place.

It was our first time to visit Midtown Bistro and we absolutely loved it. After making reservation we arrived and were warmly greeted by our server. We ordered hot tea which was delightful. We decided to try the quinoa and the rib-eye steak. They were both perfectly made and the flavor was very rich and tasty. The mood in mid-town bistro was elegant and made it very romantic. At the table they had fresh roses and candles that set the mood right. The servers were on point and made the dinner altogether amazing. The next time your in Sante Fe I would highly recommend a dinner with family and friends at Mid-town bistro. This place truly exceeded all my expectations. Enjoy!

Out of the way location. Cool, modern space. Attentive service. Terrific food. We had calamari - tender and crisp - and tuna tartar - spicy and fresh, both generously portioned, to start. A full rack of lamb arrived medium rare as requested. The chicken with polenta had Brussels sprouts - an unpleasant surprise to the diner, but his companion enjoyed their caramelized goodness. One gripe: limited, expensive wine list. Cannot comment on dessert because we were too full to even let Enrique, our excellent server, describe them.

Will NEVER return to this restaurant. First of all, no parking. You have to park in dirt and gravel, then walk. The place is trying so hard to be an upscale restaurant, that they have completely forgotten about service. When I asked the young woman filling our water glasses what the soup of the day was, she said, "I don't know. I'm not a waiter." After our disheveled server took our order, we had to flag him down to ask for bread. We then waited over 30 minutes before he stopped by to say he was going to check on our food. During this time, no one bothered to check on us or apologize for the delay, though there were two managers on duty. At one point, the man manager came to our table and replaced the empty chair with a patio chair from outside because he wanted the nice chair for another table. Extremely tacky. It was actually over 45 minutes from the time we placed our order until we were eating. When the food finally arrived it was generally good. I had the ruben, which was soggy on the plate side but had good flavor. My finance had the chicken sandwich, and enjoyed it. The homemade chips were very good. My mom's salad was far too bitter to eat and seemed to only have oil as a dressing. After our plates were cleared, we waited again for our check. Finally my fiance got up and approached the male manager, telling him that our food took over 35 minutes and we'd like our check. He "informed" her that they are a table cloth and napkins restaurant, and that was pretty good for them. What a prick. Does he seriously think we are so stupid that we didn't see the table cloths and napkins we'd been using? All he needed do was apologize and say he'd get the check right out. I ended up having to raise my voice to the server to get his attention for the check. Extremely disappointing experience for the $36 tab.

We enjoyed an excellent dinner here, and the outdoor seating is lovely. A truly romantic dinner. Parking is a challenge, but you should go anyway. My husband said it was the best pork chop he's had in Santa Fe, and my pasta was delicious.

Our service was excellent from both the waiter and our bus boy. I think everyone is to be congratulated for what they have accomplished in a short time.

This is by far the best place to eat in town, the food is magnificent, the service is always great, and the price is beyond lower than expected when walking in to a fancy restaurant. If you want to have a meal that is put together like a piece of art but still tastes wonderful, then I suggest eating here. Compliments to the chef!

We had a very nice dinner, and a very nice experience! The service was impeccable from the moment we walked in. We had no reservations and had been on a day trip down and back on the Turquoise Trail, and probably looked it! With no hesitation we were seated and felt immediately at home. The wine selection is limited in quantity but very nicely designed with an eye toward complimenting the menu. I see many huge wine lists with redundancies in style and very little breadth...this is nice to see on a small wine list. We enjoyed the chicken taquito appetizer and the amazingly good pork chop, prepared just as we ordered it. It is a nice combination of flavors that do not overpower the chop. The fresh bread was quite good and I know it is a little thing but I appreciate a restaurant that does not serve frozen butter! Thank you for not making me tear my bread apart! All in all, I would go back...and I recommend you do too!

This used to be our "go-to" restaurant in Santa fe but that has changed. The food quality is not the same as it was last October and this evening we went for dinner with five of our local friends to give it one more try. Big mistake! Not only is the food different and not good, but one of our party was served food with a toothpick embedded inside which was both disgusting and dangerous. When we complained about it the waitress initially took no action so we asked for the manager, who wasn't there (according to the wait staff). There was no apology, no comping the dish and instead the waitress was annoyed and then laughed about it with another server near the bussing station in plain sight. None of us will EVER eat here again or recommend it and this restaurant will likely be gone in six months due to bad, expensive food and an even worse attitude.

I have enjoyed lunch at Midtown Bistro a few times, decided to try dinner and we were pleasantly surprised. Everything was on point, server was knowledgable about the wine list which helps. I ordered the halibut with a pesto risotto. My significant other ordered the steak which was cooked perfect served with an awesome scalloped potato. Edmond, one of the owners was there and chatted with us a bit which was a nice end our meal. Great food in the middle of town.

This was awesome. The service was admittedly a little slow and the waitress tried to up sale me on wine, coffee, dessert, etc. Which was annoying but forgivable considering the food was amazing. I had the Salmon (normally trout, but they only had salmon) with couscous and chimichurri sauce. I washed it dow with a glass of Plungerhead Zinfandel. It was so delicious. A lot of subtlety to the food. A lot of different flavors in the couscous, complementing each other and coming forward at different times. It was perfect!!

Midtown Bistro has the nicest outdoor space of any restaurant in Santa Fe with fountains, beautiful plinths and sculptures, lush greenery and comfortable seating. Tables are set with linens and heaters are provided for chilly evening dining. The inside portion of the restaurant is spacious and quite attractive: large enough for a celebratory lunch or dinner, but with enough smaller seating for a party of two. The chilled avocado cucumber soup is a palate pleaser, especially on these hot summer days. The housemade chips are perfectly fried: not greasy and well seasoned. The roast pork sandwich with caramelized onion was grilled and the taste: first rate. Bread is supplied by Whole Foods. The Cobb salad made with spinach, egg, chicken, tomato, bacon and avocado was by far, the best I've tasted. The young man who was bussing was very helpful and friendly. He should have been the waiter. I would have given a five star rating but our waiter didn't check on how we liked our food, if we needed anything during the course of the meal and wasn't friendly when we ordered; he seemed rushed. We had to ask the busser for our check. The waiter seemed friendly when he brought the check; they may have just been short staffed. There are clean spacious restrooms with handicap access. The restaurant is off West San Mateo and not a place you would run into on a Sunday drive, but it is well worth finding.
